3 Simple Steps to the Best Denim Look Ever

-->
Hello Friends, Happy Wednesday,
I really love denim, I mean really obsessed. I wear denim all day every day! Ever since my high school days, I have always felt the most comfortable in denim. So naturally  I am constantly looking for new ways to wear and style denim and find ways  how I can make it fresh and interesting. Soon after a blog photoshoot with my blogger friend Saumya (p.s you should check out her blog here) and I went right into window shopping before lunch. As Saumya was checking out and finalizing her purchases I saw this image of a model wearing a cropped denim jacket, over a chambray shirt and some skinny jeans and was immediately inspired to create and style this look my way. You never know where your inspiration comes from so keep your eyes open.

I really love denim, I mean really obsessed. I wear denim all day everyday!

Do you wear denim on a daily basis?  Do you have a full range of denim washes that could be styled together in a fresh new way? I am always thinking of style options for wardrobe and I have honestly loved wearing all of my favorite denim pieces at the same time. See this other way I wore denim here. So instead of shopping for this look I highly recommend you start with your closet because you probably have all these pieces you need to style this look.

Here are three simple steps to create the best denim look ever:

Step One: Shop Your Closet!
The first step to creating the best  denim look ever is to take just a few steps into your closet. Do I have more than 2 denim washes in my wardrobe? Do I have a Chambray or Denim Shirt? Do I Have a Denim Jacket? If you don't have these you can always borrow from your friends or sister's wardrobe? If not please do not complete Step 2 until you can get these 2 to 3 essential items. LOL!
90% percent of us have our favorite pair denim in our wardrobes already!
Look for your favorite pair of jeans. 90% percent of us have our favorite pair denim in our wardrobes already, so we don't need to spend any money on new ones. You can go skinny, or ankle or boyfriend jeans what ever your taste.
Next, choose your Denim or Chambray Shirt. It can be a different denim wash either dark or light blue or it can be a different textures.
Finally, find your favorite denim jacket. Choose the one that makes you feel confident and stylish at the same time. It must also be a similar denim wash that will compliment the jeans and denim shirt.

Step Two: Pair different denim washes + textures together

Now its time to put all together the jeans, the denim shirt and the denim jacket. Creating an outfit is all about this step trying multiple ways to style this look. You could roll up your jeans, to show your ankles and shoes or half tuck the denim shirt to make it more casual chic, you could also drape your jacket over the shoulders for a picture or button it up all the way to showcase your accessories or a boyish stylized look.

Step Three: Add your Signature Accessories

To complete the best denim look ever you will need to choose your favorite signature accessories like a watch, bracelets, earrings, necklaces,  purses and shoes. Whatever you choose make sure it speaks to your personality and lifestyle. Your signature accessories can make or break your outfit. You can definitely dress up or down the look with just a few changes of the accessories. Make sure they count.

Leaf Print Crop Top + Pencil Skirt

Hello Friends, Happy Good Friday!
Its a good, good Friday! I am so grateful I get to spend time with Dad and sister during this holiday weekend! Its a time of remembrance of what Easter really means to me and my relationship with God. Its the very foundation of what being a Christian is all about. I feel so fortunate to celebrate the the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! This what I wore last year it is still one of my favorite outfits for Spring. Looking back inspired me to wear pastel colors again this Easter. I actually found this skirt first and wore it here and here. And when I found out about the matching crop top I knew I needed it in my wardrobe. In fact the total cost of this entire outfit is less than $75 with most being from the contemporary collection at Forever 21. Just when I am ready to move onto other stores Forever 21 has a way to bring me back in. I am glad they did with this matching set. I can wait to style it many different ways this Spring/Summer season.

Crop Jacket + Yellow T-Shirt + Floral Pencil Skirt!

Hello Friends, Happy Wednesday!
I wanted to today's outfit to feel like Spring! So I wore flowers! LOL! I found this floral skirt on sale at Zara, I tried it on looked so fabulous that I had to get it! When I got up to pay for it! It was under $10! The best surprise ever! I knew I  wanted to wear on a Sunny day so when it was sunny I got to style it! I cant wait to wear it fifty million ways! Creating outfits many different ways in my closet is my favorite thing about style! In fact, my goal is 2016 is to create a capsule wardrobe. I think this piece makes it in for my Spring collection. You can also see the 6 style resolutions I want to accomplish this year! Maybe it will also give you some style goals too! I would wear this to work ( this definitely goes into my Work Outfit Wednesday Series), I would just change the crop jacket to a blue or forest green blazer color and change the wedges for a neutral classic heel. As a creative professional this a great option. If you work in a casual work environment it takes all the elements of classic work suit and gives it a casual relaxed nice twist! How would you style this floral pencil skirt? I hope you enjoy another fabulous Wednesday!

Maroon Blazer + Cowl Neck Sweater + Cutout Ankle Booties

Hello Friends, Happy Friday!
I like cowl neck sweaters as transition pieces! Its a sweater yet not to restrictive and light weight. When you pair it with skinny jeans and black cutout ankle booties. It turns into a style all on its own. I added my signature African bracelets to add a pop of contrast color to complete the look. When we took these photos it was an extreme cold and windy day but I like my poses that came  so naturally and it didn't look like I was freezing. Sometimes I wonder how models do in the winter and snow with very thin layers. Its definitely a profession I can respect especially since I started blogging. PI hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Multicolor Blazer + Blue Bird Tie Blouse

Hello Friends, Happy Wednesday!
My style has definitely evolved since I started style blogging nearly 5 years ago and one of my favorite things is to style or mix pattern and prints. Its a whole new world of discovering what patterns work together and a new understanding of color and what it means to the overall outfit. I feel like my style has grown outside of the box and constantly evolving to something wonderful and exciting. This outfit feels like a casual Friday transition outfit from desk to dinner but its Wednesday and since its midweek, this outfit gives the boost of energy and creativity to need to do your best work. Enjoy!
