A Quiet Summer

Hello Everyone! Happy Summer!

Wow! The days of Summer have really flown by this year! For me, I have come to enjoy those days the most! When I am relaxing, reflecting, reconnecting, and refocusing on the things I want most out of life. This Summer, I have been obsessed with the Ice Tea Lemonades at Starbucks and the Oprah Quotes on the coffee sleeves, "The only courage you ever need is the courage to live the life you want." these words have forced me to look at my life and really challenge myself to live the life I want because you only have one life to live (hashtag YOLO! LOLSo, while I was living in the real world LOL! (Sidenote its so hard to just be present these days and let your memories cherish the moments and not the iPhone!) I attended a graduation, went on a bike ride, had a mini picnic, saw the Lion King at the Kennedy Center, enjoyed my Afro-Lit book club selections, birthdays, barbecues, brunches, baby showers, weddings, rooftop parties, fashion events, time with family and so much more. I also celebrated three years of blogging this past July. It has been the Summer that I was planning in my head and was more exciting than I ever expected. As I continue this journey, I am learning more about myself each day and constantly challenging myself to keep growing, changing and improving myself to become a better person. I have some projects this Fall that I cannot wait to share with you all my readers. Thank you for reading, and liking my posts these past 3 years. I am really proud of myself for staying committed to this ever evolving project and I can't wait to see what it becomes.

So, I went to the mall! (I haven't been to the mall in weeks, and was immediately a little overwhelmed and over stimulated..but more of that later) I was looking for a wedding gift for friends who were getting married the next day, (raise your hand, for last minute shoppers! aka procrastinators! LOL). Anyway, I happened to walk into the ZARA, where my eyes wondered to a huge 70% off sale sign. I was just browsing and then I picked up a pair of $20 jeans, I know, the price was so right! then i stumbled upon this light blue flowy top to pair it with and headed to the fitting room, let me just say the $20 jeans didnt work out but the top did! Good things happen when you least expect it sometimes. I looked at it from all angles and I had that (say Yes to the Dress moment!) and knew that it had a new home in my closet. This top has inspired a mini lookbook as a result because I love it so much. I have come up with three ways to wear it and where to wear it too. If you are still wondering about the wedding gift, it was wrapped beautifully in nordstrom swag! LOL.

This lookbook continues through this week, please check back this Wednesday and Friday as more  ways to wear this summer flawy top. I just can't wait to show you all so, please stay tuned!
