A Weekend Adventure: Textile Museum

Weekend Adventures are always so much fun. I like  finding and discovering something new the in DC area. Its like going on a treasure hunt and I can't wait for the next clue. This time,  my sister and I decided to head to the Textile Museum near Dupont Circle.

A Beautiful Day in my Neighborhood.

I love this time of year when we get a mini preview of the next season: SPRING! Its a time of  lots of sunshine, warm breezes and flowers blossoming everywhere. It is when we see the God's beauty in nature. Can't wait Spring to finally be here.

On this beautiful afternoon, Pascale and I were inspired by the architecture of my condo we used the sunshine and shadows to our advantage to get the perfect moments on camera. It  is so much fun posing and playing in the windows, doors and halls of this property we captured great moments.

My outfit was inspired by the one of my favorite bloggers The Chriselle Factor and my favorite color red. Chriselle's pairing of clothing pieces are so unique it inspires me to think outside of the box when it comes to style and that its about staying true to yourself.  I hope to inspire you all my readers too.

The cowl neck sweater is a great foundation piece that can be worn multiple ways in both the fall and winter. Here I paired it with a simple black knee length skirt, red blazer and my favorite pair of ankle boots and my favorite pair of wayfarer sunglasses.

Brookside Gardens

This is the first photo shoot I had with my friend and photographer Pascale Fabrice Joseph. We decided to take these photos at Brookside Gardens.  The scenary and the gardens were just beautiful. I can definitely appreciate God's creation during the winter season. It was a very cold late afternoon and after about an hour of photos and being outside I couldn't feel my fingers and toes anymore. At the end Pascale and I had a blast, she also captured some great photos. She is a great photographer and I hope to take many more photos with her this year.

What I Wore Winter Remix Challenge: Red Blazer: Two Ways

This Red Blazer is one of my favorite pieces currently in my closet. I am constantly finding new ways to style it. In the first outfit, I paired the red blazer with black skinny pants and basic black tank. For a pop of color the green fedora borrowed from my sister adds the finishing touch. The second outfit is paired with a cowl neck sweater, a black cotton skirt and my favorite pair of wayfarers.
I recently submitted these outfit photos to the What I Wore Winter Remix Challenge.  Hopefully maybe I will get to see these photos on again on the What I Wore blog next week.
 Wish me Luck!!!!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Snowy Ski weekend Getaway

Last weekend, a  few friends and I spent the weekend in the snowy mountains of maryland. Time really does fly when you are having fun. I been skiing a few times in my life and each time I get on ski lift and ascend to the top of the mountain I get really nervous, but after a few calculated falls, muscle memory kicks in and I'm skiing like a professional skier at the winter Olympics LOL!  No seriously, I know with a little more practice, I believe I can get there one day. But for now first things first, I have got to get the perfect ski outfit, that's the most important thing of course.

The rest of the weekend was spent playing cards, board games, watching movies and singing songs and good conversations around the fireplace. It was the perfect snowy weekend getaway that was much needed. I am looking forward to a summer getaway in the very near future.

Another Day, another Outfit

It is always a challenge to wear something other than pants and jeans in the winter, so in an attempt to challenge my personal style and creativity, I have decided to where skirts for seven days or a week that means no jeans or pants. I bought two basic cotton knee length skirts and I have been obsessed with pairing the skirts with everything in my closet. Here's to Day One..
